Episode 67
February 13, 2025
We start with some dub techno from Russia and Lithuania, slipping into Dutch ambient, Irish slow tech, and proto-jungle from Manchester’s OG – A Guy Called Gerald. You’ve German synth-pop. Dilla. And the new wave sound of early Eurythmics, too.
Sixties psych, Louisiana blues, Brazilian samba, and Chicago house all follow, before a track from one of grime’s foundational producers – Terror Danjah (RIP).
You’ve early material from Florida’s Doechii. Something from one of the best albums Radiohead recorded. Brand new SPELLLING, and Barker. Both due in the next few weeks. The fierce funk of the underrated Betty Davis. Battles. Gomez. Brand new Sparks, ahead of their UK tour. And two tracks from Nigeria’s Tony Allen and Colombia’s La Boa.
Listen Live Thursdays 10am on Twitch.

Each week Mx Darkfloor soundtracks your morning, setting you up for the day. Drawing on many styles and genres. From deep drone, ambient, and dub, through to jazz, grunge, jungle, and breaks. There’s side quests into downtempo, trip-hop, and hip-hop. As well as approachable experimental sound, African rhythms, and Asian beats. To folk, no wave, shoegaze, psych, and fuzzy sludge.
The takeaway is you never know what they’ll play, but it’ll be day friendly, good music.
