It’s a relaxed first half today, with ambient sound from British sound artist Samsuo. Drone from Germany techno producer Johannes Heil. The melodic electro of Silicon Scally. An early DJ Shadow classic from that stunning debut record of 1996. A beautiful and delicate cut from Tipper’s most recent LP Cloaked. The industrial drone metal of Birmingham’s Khost. And the modern classical meets electronics of Canada’s Kara-Lis Coverdale.

Adrian Sherwood reworks an old Blur track from 1997. There’s a bright cut from one of last year’s best albums by Clark. MC Yallah lends her unique African rap to Columbia’s bass flexing technician Verraco.

We lead into a beautiful 9 min smooth as silk drum and breaks track from Paradox. Art Blakey flexes his drums with the Jazz Messengers, and a track they recorded in the 1950s.

There’s the beautiful fragile sound of Taiwanese musician Yu-Ching Huang. A ghost story told by British folk band HARESS. Plus, the 80s goth rock glam of Gene Loves Jezebel. The latest single from Aussie dons The Avalanches, featuring none other than the Yeah Yeah Yeahs Karen O. And the brand new story track from Peter ‘GOAT’ Gabriel.

In our final section this week, a short but percussively rich cut by Ibrahim Alfa Jnr. The interview I mention on the show can be read here. Mid 1990s Melvins. A listener chosen cut from those Orbital boys. The breaks meets garage bangs of British duo Y U QT. And to close, it had to be French synthwave producer Kavinsky, who sadly died this week.
