Based out of Varna in Bulgaria Dusted Wax Kingdom have been steadily releasing an ever growing catalogue of self described blunted downtempo beats, abstract hip-hop, trip-hop, and lo-fi electronics.

Having freely released ‘smoker friendly’ percussion focused broken beat sound for some 5 years, they’re a reliable source of decent hip-hop instrumental work. One of their latest offerings is Reverse of The Void, a 15 track album from Latvia’s Bulimic Orgy and Mile.

They’ve worked together before, on 2009’s Dairy Plant LP also to be found on Dusted Wax Kingdom.

Reverse of the Void is a dusty, delicate, at times soulful work; full of choice samples, birdsong, and groove looped beat work. A great album to put on, kick back and relax to on a hazy sunny afternoon, much like today is in London. Herbaliser fans will be attracted to this album, none more so than track Hippie Terrorist. Closer Zelyonka is for me the stand out track, a deep and reflective piece.
