Dark Soul of the Night II (by Acid Barrett, Barton Funk and DJ Oscar)

Recently I discovered DJ Oscar’s Sofa Mixes blog (of which I posted his Ambient Sofa Classix) and happened across this, the second in a series entitled Dark Soul of the Night. DJ Oscar describes his mix thus:

This sequel to the mysteriously lost B-movie takes the imaginative listener on another dark ride through back alleys, smokey lowdown bars, a hasty run through the jungle and finally back safely at our happy end.

With a intriguing selection of sounds most befitting the title of Dark Soul of the Night, DJ Oscar has presented Frank Zappa, Sunn O))), Venetian Snares, and The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble with snippets of spoken word from William S. Burroughs combined with a fair few artists I’ve not heard of before.
