Episode 123
June 11, 2026
Our weekly show this week starts with the beautiful sounds of Sun Ra Arkestra member Kelan Phil Chohran and spiritual jazz group Legacy. And, the lush etheral sound of Canadian guitarist Michael Brook’s 1987 collaboration with Dutch musician Pieter Nooten.
We hear a listener suggestion from Michigan folk singer Dave Bixby (thanks Tim), and a new track from the upcoming solo record by Squid’s Anton Pearson.
There’s back to back Clark, with two tracks from his new EP. And we dive back into the dub echo chamber of 1997 when Adrian Sherwood met Primal Scream.
The evergreen Boards of Canada make their umpteenth appearance on the show. Before a new track from a new album by Germany’s Philipp Johann Thimm for Modeselektor’s label Monkeytown.
We get lost in the sound of Italy’s Donato Dozzy, and wake up with the Cape Town band Internet Girl. I plunder the 90s for another proper jungle cut by Dillinja, together with the EBM of the late 80s and Nitzer Ebb.
You’ll also hear something brand new from Thee Oh Sees. A beautiful track by Kelly Lee Owens from her second album. And the goosebump inducing progressive house classic by Young American Primitive.
We roll deep into the dub of Detroit’s Mike Schommer. A classic 90s alt rock track by Alice In Chains. And a cut from the French trio Slift’s brand new record. Before closing on an acoustic version of a metal classic.
That’s your show. Thanks for listening.

Each week Mx Darkfloor soundtracks your morning, setting you up for the day. Drawing on many styles and genres. From deep drone, ambient, and dub, through to jazz, grunge, jungle, and breaks. There’s side quests into downtempo, trip-hop, and hip-hop. As well as approachable experimental sound, African rhythms, and Asian beats. To folk, no wave, shoegaze, psych, and fuzzy sludge.
The takeaway is you never know what they’ll play, but it’ll be day friendly, good music.
Mornings With is archived on Patreon where episodes are shared with tracklists.
