In the second of a series of mixes marking the year that was we’d like to present over two hours of metal, industrial and noise compiled from some of the best releases we heard in 2020.

Often the more extreme or aggressive the metal is, the more cathartic it can be. The intensity of the sonics often helps to calm our inner turmoil. Some of the tracks and artists in this mix achieve that, and some are just upfront narly, guitar heavy slabs of sound.

In addition to this mix, another one is due, and one was published earlier this week – two hours of downtempo and ambient sounds. The end of year Mantis Radio special is in the works, it’s over 4 hours long at this point and following a poll on Twitter yesterday will be published in 2 parts.
