Featured Guest
Our guest this week is JOHN 3:16, the drone, industrial, and darkwave solo project of Philadelphia based artist Phillipe Gerber. He’s recorded us a session showcasing his sound, his taste, and cuts from his label Alrealon Musique.
Between 2004 and 2009 Gerber was Heat From A DeadStar – an alt-rock, lo-fi sound for Boston’s Ace Of Hearts Records. This year 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of JOHN 3:16 – a project that has seen Gerber collaborate with artists including Musique, The Use, Rasplyn, Anthony Donovan, Jan Swinburne, Mahr, Philippe Petit, I-Symptom, Eisenlager, Sobaki Tabaka, Lapis Exilis, and Mark Harris. His work with Mark Harris is of particular note. In October the label he is most closely aligned with, Alrealon Musique, released Sinner’s Prayer. He’s already got three new works lined up for 2018. His next work, Ten, drops in Feb.
