Ensemble Skalectrik – Trainwrekz [Editions Mego]
Nick Edwards on fine form under his Ensemble Skaletrik guise, coming just over 6 months behind Plekzations and this time heading out with turntables in hand to stride down a dubbier path.

Best Available Technology – Excavated Tapes 1992-1999, Vol. 1 [Astro:Dynamics]
Very experimental look at some early works by BAT. Sonics proper as the man himself might say.

Cindytalk – A Life Is Everywhere [Editions Mego]
Outstanding noise workouts from Cindytalk, seemed like I had to wait a lifetime to get my hands on this, but so worth it. Feedback, machine noise and some lush chords. Sounds simple but it’s anything but. On constantly near me.

Aoki Takamasa – RV8 [Raster-Noton]
Raster-Noton doing what they do best, this time via Aoki Takamasa. Crisp, clean, laboratory conditioned futuristic techno. Raster-Noton are so good at this and this is one of the best.

Orphan – Retakes [Kaleidoscope]
I love the Kaleidoscope label – they put out super limited edition Dictaphone tape editions that sell out in moments. That in itself would be enough to give them respect for. But the label, run by Patten is amazing.

So much variety and as a bonus, all releases come as free MP3 versions. Orphan’s is a collection of almost ambient techno that fits these long warm nights perfectly. Also available is a remixed EP via SoundCloud.

Memotone – Koma/Goldair [Black Acre]
Koma sounds a little like Maxinquaye era Tricky and Goldair sounds like Powel remixing my own Puls (Complete).

That sounds like a high recommendation to me.

Jon Hopkins – Immunity [Domino Recording Co]
Always interesting to see which version of Jon Hopkins will arrive next. This particular version arrives somewhere in between Andy Stott and Autechre. Glitchy, soundtrackesque (that’s a word now) slow-motion techno.

Matt Whitehead – A is for Acid [Perc Trax]
The kind of acidic techno that is designed to leave you with bruises, solid solid business.

Paula Temple – Colonized [R&S]
More of the same from Paula Temple – these EPs both bang and crunch in the the right places.

Ike Yard – Remixes EP #2 [Desire Records]
Tropic of Cancer make Half a God into the perfect Goth soundtrack while the Recombinant remix is almost Alva Noto like. Again, I can’t see how you could go wrong.
