Support the Acid Relief Compilation
Music and positive action. There are good people working with many ways to make positive change, and in the case of this 16 track compilation it’s to raise money for the DEC’s East Africa Crisis appeal.
Put together by the London-based crew behind the regular I Love Acid night and Balkan Vinyl this is not only a brilliant compilation of acid infused electro, techno, old skool breaks and rave but a small action that can affect and be part of a bigger result.
All the artists of the compilation have contributed their work for free and neither Balkan Vinyl nor I Love Acid are taking any cut from the money raised. You can send money direct to the cause by visiting their Just Giving page and you can choose to pay what you want for the 16 tracks. (thou: if you do choose to download for free, please help spread the word about the compilation, by sharing it on your Twitter, Facebook, website, or forum. Thanks!)
The DEC brings together 14 leading UK aid agencies to finance relief for people affected by major disasters in poorer countries. They never spend more than 5% of the money they raise on fundraising or promotion. Their member agencies never spend more than 7% supporting their aid efforts from the UK.
This means the MINIMUM spent on aid delivered overseas is 88%
