London producer Paul Lynch, better known as slackk breaks in July with a 46 minute DJ recording giving a great oversight of where grime is today and it’s largely sounding mighty fine.

Hard crunched snares, offbeat rhythms, that murky lurk forward that grime does so well – all present. As is a distinct lack of a fast spitting grime MC or 6 – which is all good. For me the 8bit style coloured synths (29minutes) have to be pretty special for me to really feel – Ikonika rarely falters on this, and that section, on this mix, is for me the weak part. Still the rest of the mix is tight and rolling.
