Watch Black Sea of Trees by ambient metal duo Northumbria

The Canadian ambient metal duo of  Northumbria’s new video Black Sea of Trees has surfaced.

As hypnotic visually as it is aurally the 13 minute film is a fine companion piece to the track that the duo of Jim Field and Dorian Williamson released last year.

The film was directed by Marc Forand.

‘Black Sea of Trees’ is a time-lapse film set to Northumbria’s song with the same title. Both the song and video are influenced by the mythology of the Aokigahara, Japan’s haunted forest of death.

If you have a phobia of trees, Hylophobia (which is a real thing don’t ya know) then the below video is likely to be your worst nightmare and you probably shouldn’t watch. For the rest of us enjoy.
