This week on the show, music from Blawan, Broadcast, Drumcorps, and Tim Hecker. Plus, a whole bunch more. As you’ve come to expect.
It’s the usual deal today – in that I’ve a diverse range of current and old music. Building from an ambient, blissful and some might even say calm beginning, through beats, bass, guitar, vocals, and jungle.
You’ve ambient Aphex Twin. Scotland’s Mogwai. And the exceptional work of Tim Hecker. Before the downtempo psy of Man With No Name. A German dub version of a Manchester anthem. Detroit’s Danny Brown, again. Brand new Zhark Recordings. King Tubby, being the GOAT that he was. And even, brand new Drumcorps Yes, the breakcore/grindcore producer you think it is.
You’ve the beautiful sounds of Boards of Canada, Molly Nilsson, and Ezra Collective’s Ife Ogunjobi covering Chet Baker. As well as chunky beats from Death Grips, SCALER, and Blawan. Before the aforementioned jungle, served by Equinox, and Tim Reaper.
Along the way, music from Sly & Robbie, tweaked by Howie B. Brand new lo-fi sonics from Lukid. Brooklyn’s Model/Actriz. The husky blues rock voice of Tom Waits. All before closing with a dedication and tribute to my Mum, Lynne, with the Pet Shop Boys.
Great music from tip to tail. As per usual. Yes.
That’s the write-up for this week. Have yourself a lovely day and I’ll catch you again soon.

Each week Mx Darkfloor soundtracks your morning, setting you up for the day. Drawing on many styles and genres. From deep drone, ambient, and dub, through to jazz, grunge, jungle, and breaks. There’s side quests into downtempo, trip-hop, and hip-hop. As well as approachable experimental sound, African rhythms, and Asian beats. To folk, no wave, shoegaze, psych, and fuzzy sludge.
The takeaway is you never know what they’ll play, but it’ll be day friendly, good music.
