Featured Guests
Based out of Vienna, Austria, Kvitnu is a label whose output we at Darkfloor have been loving for years. Portuguese duo Sturqen, purveyors of live rhythmic sonics, guested on Mantis Radio back in 2010 and tracks from the likes of label mates Matter and Plaster can be found in our radio playlists in the subsequent years.
The brightest side of the darkest sound
Formed in 2006 by Dmytro Fedorenko (Kotra) Kvitnu is a label that pushes heavy, dense and experimental music.
with the aim to amplify the electronic experimental outputs from the land of Ukraine and to discover new musical variations from the outer world. Kvitnu concentrates on music and ideas with a high blood pressure in its sound-veins, which are carefully bodied in very specially-created natural cardboard flesh, mainly designed by Zavoloka.
The music is visceral, sharp, angular and dividing. The label’s visual output is equally striking, colourful metallic prints cover the physical releases. For our 202th show, Fedorenko delivers a brilliant wall to wall Kvitnu session, showcasing current and forthcoming material from the label.
