So, what do we have. Well, from Scotland we’ve the IDM dusted sound of Pub, and LA’s Fields of Mist. Before the indie folk of Skullcrusher and a track from her brand new second album. Julianna Barwick partners up with harpist Mary Lattimore. Hear a single from their forthcoming album, due early next year.

There’s brand new Inigo Kennedy, showing, well reinforcing really, just how good he is. Classic Boards of Canada. A new remix by Marie Davidson of a recent track by Baxter Dury. Together with the French electro of DJ Mehdi, Chomero, and Ed Banger Records.

You’ve the deep lush dubstep sound of late 2000s Pangaea. And, the supreme sound of saxophonist Sonny Rollins showing the talent that he and his bandmates were with a fantastic recording from 1956. Which leads us into two back to back productions from the contemporary jazz work of Kassa Overall. On the first Overall reworks a Wu-Tang classic, and on the second, hear a track he produced for Detroit’s Danny Brown.

Also this week, music from Third Man Records and the punky fun of SNOOPER. Simon Heartfield’s post rock project OLORON. Early country from bluegrass don Bill Monroe. Deep jungle sub action from Eusebeia. Plus, a new banger from the Ibibio Sound Machine. And, a cut from that hefty new Blawan record. That you need to hear.

Closing out the episode, Liza Minelli, and the Deftones. Yes indeed.

Thursdays on Twitch @mantisradio.

Each week Mx Darkfloor soundtracks your morning, setting you up for the day. Drawing on many styles and genres. From deep drone, ambient, and dub, through to jazz, grunge, jungle, and breaks. There’s side quests into downtempo, trip-hop, and hip-hop. As well as approachable experimental sound, African rhythms, and Asian beats. To folk, no wave, shoegaze, psych, and fuzzy sludge.

The takeaway is you never know what they’ll play, but it’ll be day friendly, good music.
