Episode 109
February 19, 2026

This week’s show turned into a bit of a bumper edition, packing 30 tracks across the 2+ hours. Lots of new tracks, and some from back then.

It’s an ease in kind of day as we start with John Monkman, Deaf Center, and a new piece from Danish pipe organist Emil Mark. There’s guitar virtuoso Julian Lage, and Sweden’s Sven Wunder. Who channels the Mediterranean seas. Plus, the soothing psych rock of Tame Impala.

Hear some early 70s Beach Boys. Contemporary jazz from Yussef Dayes. A new deep house cut from NYC’s Galcher Lustwerk. And brand new music from Cate le Bon. Hyperdub’s Proc Fiskal. And American guitarist and composer Bill Orcutt. You’ll hear the shonky jazz of The Messthetics and James Brandon Lewis A band who pack a rhythm section of former Fugazi band members Brendan Canty and Joe Lally.

We visit the Appalachian mountains. Share some recent-ish Grandaddy. Classic Placebo. Early Nick Drake. Early US hardcore band Void. As well as Madlib and MF Doom’s project Madvillain. New on my radar post rock band Robber Robber, and the feel good new wave dance vibes of Haute & Freddy.

Plus, hear the words of the Jesse Jackson, who passed this week.

Listen Live Thursdays 10am on Twitch.

Each week Mx Darkfloor soundtracks your morning, setting you up for the day. Drawing on many styles and genres. From deep drone, ambient, and dub, through to jazz, grunge, jungle, and breaks. There’s side quests into downtempo, trip-hop, and hip-hop. As well as approachable experimental sound, African rhythms, and Asian beats. To folk, no wave, shoegaze, psych, and fuzzy sludge.

The takeaway is you never know what they’ll play, but it’ll be day friendly, good music.
