Episode 107
February 5, 2026

After the punk rock the Buzzcocks we roll through last year’s homage to 60s and 70s dub reggae from Skinshape and the Horus All Stars. Mid 90s Photek. And a beautiful piece from The New Puritans latest record Crooked Wing.

Hear a cut from Tokyo’s ambient folk master Ichiko Aoba. And, the soulful funk of El Michels Affairs featuring Brazil’s Rogê. There’s brand new melodic jungle from Xylitol’s upcoming 2nd album. A deep Detroit sounding cut from the British duo B12’s side project Musicology. Dub techno from Claro Intelecto. And the abstract tech house of Chicago’s Hieroglyphic Being, with a track taken from the best album title you’ve heard in forever.

Plus, brand new Tiga, featuring hot-at-the-moment duo Fcukers. Something from Kayla Painter’s new record. The Carl Craig headed up jazz-meets-electronics project Detroit Experiment. Mid 90s era Flaming Lips. A cut from the Manic Street Preachers ’92 debut record, which recently saw a remastered re-release. Early period The Fall. All before new jungle & bass from Nottingham’s Soul Intent, and a mid 90s speaker tester from the one and only Dillinja.

Winding it down in the final section, with the deeply beautiful country folk of Canadian duo Kacy & Clayton; the late 50s rockabilly of fellow Canadian Jack Scott. And, the Dave Matthews Band.

Each week Mx Darkfloor soundtracks your morning, setting you up for the day. Drawing on many styles and genres. From deep drone, ambient, and dub, through to jazz, grunge, jungle, and breaks. There’s side quests into downtempo, trip-hop, and hip-hop. As well as approachable experimental sound, African rhythms, and Asian beats. To folk, no wave, shoegaze, psych, and fuzzy sludge.

The takeaway is you never know what they’ll play, but it’ll be day friendly, good music.
