Episode 104
January 15, 2026

Starting with a beautiful long form piece composed by John Luther Adams we roll through some truly wonderful sound today. We’ve Norway’s ambient lord Biosphere. Manc breaks n jazz trio GoGo Penguin. Detroit duo Dopplereffekt.

There’s a track from BC Camplight’s latest LP, recorded in Liverpool, no less. Kula Shaker have a new album coming up, and yes I play something from it. There’s new Puscifer, who also have their new record dropping in a few weeks. Hear a classic post-hardcore slab from At The Drive-In and their masterpiece record Relationship of Command.

Plus, Apparat. Ghost Dubs. And brand new Nathan Fake, ahead of his new album. In Rainbows era Radiohead. The forgotten …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. We go back to the 90s with tracks from Curve, and Bomb The Bass. There’s brand new Kim Gordon, who this week announced her 3rd solo record, due March.

The supreme beauty of Cassandra Jenkins, and Kathryn Williams. The dub house perfection of Anthony Naples. The underrated Chicago darkwave band Replicant. Julee Cruise. And to close, a seminal 90s drum & bass anthem. Check check check check …

A good show all round. Shouts out to the live crew, and the listen back lot. And to you, as well.

Each week Mx Darkfloor soundtracks your morning, setting you up for the day. Drawing on many styles and genres. From deep drone, ambient, and dub, through to jazz, grunge, jungle, and breaks. There’s side quests into downtempo, trip-hop, and hip-hop. As well as approachable experimental sound, African rhythms, and Asian beats. To folk, no wave, shoegaze, psych, and fuzzy sludge.

The takeaway is you never know what they’ll play, but it’ll be day friendly, good music.
