Mad-Tek

The Darkfloor 2011 review, part 2.

Following on from where Part 1 left us back in 2011 and later than originally intended (thank you Mr Illness) here is Part 2 of my Darkfloor 2011 review.

HEADS UP: Mad-Tek – Midnight Oil [Digital Distortions]

Way back in 2006 it was when I first heard the electro powered step layered thundering bass filth that the production duo Mad-Tek unleashed onto the dancefloor.

mix: Teutonic Kaboom live at Atomic Jam 15th Birthday

Teutonic Kaboom‘s recording of her set at the recent Atomic Jam event in Birmingham. Recorded at their 15th birthday show on December 11th this is 108 minutes of Teutonic Kaboom doing what she does best. A quality selection of bass rich, electro focused often jacking sounds making for an upfront listen. With artists Mad-Tek, Egyptrixx, [...]

out now: Mad-Tek – The Dark Age Remixed [Digital Distortions]

The latest release on Digital Distortions is something rather special. Since their showcase mix on the 7th MANTIS Radio show back in late 2007, Joby and Guy of Mad-Tek have been carving out a niche for themselves as nobody quite makes tracks like they do. This is what I had to say about their latest [...]

Horror Brawl – Gunz In Da Home

Horror Brawl are becoming quite the regulars on darkfloor. This mix was part of the B-Side show on Livesets.com, 26 October 2009.

Gyu – Dubstep Mix 04.09

Totally missed this when Gyu put this up last month. But making up for it now. Gyu , one half of the superb electro breaks, dubglitch, electronica (they are a bit unique with their pounding driving broken yet techno sound) group Mad-Tek brings up a dubstep selection, recorded back in September 2009.

MANTIS presents: Mad-Tek – 7 7 Mix

For the 4th MANTIS:presents: we’ve dug into the archives of the Mad-Tek boys. Gyu and Globe Rotter. Comprising of some great electro and breaks as well as their first few productions. The boys provided our 7th showcase and not so long ago followed up their great first release, False Flag EP, with the Hold It Together release.

Mantis Radio 007 + Mad-Tek

Mad-Tek consists of Gyu and Globe Rotter, [Guy and Joby] both part of the Bristol based Dissident crew. They’re not really traditional musicians but they like to perform their music live and get involved in it on stage. In the past this meant carrying the whole studio out on stage but they’ve not been able to resist the move towards the much more portable laptops now. Lately DJing together has become an interest, mixing up breaks, techno, wonky minimal and anything else that fits.
