Each release with Digital Distortions is killer and this one is no different, other than it’s free. Headed up by Bushby (showcased back on MANTIS Radio 011) and nEiL_m, Digital Distortions is a bastion of forward thinking electro infused electronica. I’ve had my mits on 2 of these tracks (namely the Ion Driver and Teutonic [...]

DVNT – NOV27 HACKNEY WAREHOUSE

As the title suggests, back on November 27th I played at a warehouse party in Hackney, well Hackney Wick. This is the recording of my set. Coming in at just shy of 90minutes and thundering along at a steady 140bpm it’s rammed full of, in my humble opinion, rolling, heavy bass licked tracks. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed mixing it.
Totally missed this when Gyu put this up last month. But making up for it now. Gyu , one half of the superb electro breaks, dubglitch, electronica (they are a bit unique with their pounding driving broken yet techno sound) group Mad-Tek brings up a dubstep selection, recorded back in September 2009.

MANTIS 016 the ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL (1st Year)
posted by DVNT on January 25th, 2009 under Broadcasts, Jnr Hacksaw, King Cannibal, Mad-Tek, Si Begg
Can you believe MANTIS is now 1 year old. MANTIS started last May and was a 3 hour monthly show, now we’re a bi-weekly 2hour show and we’re showing no signs of slowing down. It has been a wicked year for us and I am most proud to have been producing such a well received show. We’ve had some seriously amazing showcases from all over the electronic music scene. Each with a leaning to the darker, deeper sounds. A massive thanks to all who have listened in, downloaded, podcasted, sent us abuse through the forums and all those silent listeners. An even bigger thanks to all of the 16 showcased artists, producers and DJs we’ve been so lucky in providing you guys with. Please show your support by keeping these artists in work by buying their tunes and seeing them perform.
MANTIS 007 + MAD-TEK
posted by DVNT on January 25th, 2009 under Broadcasts, Mad-Tek
Mad-Tek consists of Gyu and Globe Rotter, [Guy and Joby] both part of the Bristol based Dissident crew. They’re not really traditional musicians but they like to perform their music live and get involved in it on stage. In the past this meant carrying the whole studio out on stage but they’ve not been able to resist the move towards the much more portable laptops now. Lately DJing together has become an interest, mixing up breaks, techno, wonky minimal and anything else that fits.
